    La PPN interpone habeas corpus a partir de las requisas vejatorias sufridas por las visitas de detenidos

    El día 18 de mayo de 2018 la Sala I de la Cámara Federal de Casación Penal resolvió hacer lugar a un recurso interpuesto por la Procuración Penitenciaria de la Nación en el marco de una acción de habeas corpus en la que se cuestionaba, entre otras temáticas, el trato recibido por las personas que visitan a los detenidos alojados en la Unidad Nº 19, especialmente las mujeres, quienes eran sometidas a registros personales manuales que implicaban el desnudo y prácticas invasivas, vejatorias y humillantes.

    Memorandum of Understanding between General Inspection Organization and Anti-Corruption Directorate of Azerbaijan

    The General Inspection Organization (the GIO) of Islamic Republic of Iran hosted Deputy Prosecutor General of the Republic of Azerbaijan, Director of the Anti-corruption Directorate with the Prosecutor General of the Republic of Azerbaijan during June 17 - 21, 2018. Both organizations signed a Memorandum of Understanding to boost cooperation in the fields of complaint management and anti-corruption activities.

    Los Ombudsman de varios países latinoamericanos solicitan a la Comisión Interamericana de Derechos Humanos (CIDH) que emita medidas cautelarias a Estados Unidos

    Por iniciativa de la Comisión Nacional de los Derechos Humanos (CNDH) de México, a la que se sumaron las Instituciones Nacionales de Derechos Humanos (INDH) de Colombia, Ecuador, Guatemala y Honduras, se solicitó a la Comisión Interamericana de Derechos Humanos (CIDH) este pasado 18 de junio del 2018 que requiera al Gobierno de los Estados Unidos de América interrumpir la separación de niñas, niños y adolescentes migrantes de sus familias, y adoptar todas las medidas necesarias para proteger sus derechos a la integridad personal, la familia y la libertad personal, en relación con los derechos de la niñez.

    Ombudsman receives over 3,000 complaints about public services

    Ombudsman Peter Tyndall received 3,021 complaints about providers of public services last year. The Ombudsman’s annual report for 2017 was published on Wednesday 20 June and shows that the sectors that were the most complained about in 2017 were: Government Departments/Offices (953 complaints), Local Authorities (852 complaints) and Health and social care sector (608 complaints).

    Recently, there have been situations when advocates defending people of negative reputation or negative public perception are insulted and threatened on social media. The Human Rights Defender asks social media account holders to take into consideration that the performance by advocates of their professional duties is indispensable to the process of administration of justice. It is impossible to have justice without proper performance by advocates of their professional activities, which is based on the rule of law.

    Public apology owed to victims of child sex offender who gained access to children through Puffing Billy

    People in positions of authority at Puffing Billy and other Victorian railway groups protected the reputation of their organisations at the expense of children who were sexually abused, the Victorian Ombudsman has found. Tabling her Investigation into child sex offender Robert Whitehead’s involvement with Puffing Billy and other railway bodies in the Victorian Parliament, Ombudsman Deborah Glass said the failures of people in authority were monumental.

    Victoria Pearman, Ombudsman for Bermuda, has submitted her Annual Report for 2017 to the Speaker of the House of Assembly in accordance with her statutory duty under the Ombudsman Act 2004. The Report was tabled in the House of Assembly on 22 June 2018 and is available to the public.     According to the Organic Law of the Commission Against Corruption of the Macao Special Administrative Region, the Commissioner Against Corruption, Cheong Weng Chon, submitted 2017 Annual Report of the Commission Against Corruption of Macao to the Chief Executive, Chui Sai On, in March 2018. The report was published in the Official Gazette of the Macao Special Administrative Region today (11th April).
