Ombudsman tables Special Report on Marine and Ports
Michael DeSilva, the Ombudsman for Bermuda, has submitted a Special Report to the Speaker of the House of Assembly. The report, entitled "Between a Dock and a Hard Place: An Investigation into Marine and Ports' Failure to Implement a Planning Condition for a Mooring Registration", follows an investigation into a complaint made by the children of a local fisherman who had moored his boat in a cove for over six decades. The report concerns the Department of Marine and Ports Services' failure to implement key recommendations addressing a decades-long administrative error that has left a local fishing family without access to their mooring.

Thai and Indonesian Ombudsman strengthen bilateral ties through second-phase MOU signing
During 10 – 12 October 2018, Thai Ombudsman Viddhavat Rajatanun welcomed a delegation from the Ombudsman of the Republic of Indonesia led by Ombudsman Amzulian Rifai, to sign a bilateral Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) between the Ombudsman of the Kingdom of Thailand and the Ombudsman of the Republic of Indonesia.

Ombudsman nullifies recruitments at tax collecting body
The Honorable Ombudsman Grace Tikambenji Malera has nullified recruitment of 8 Call Center Agents for the Malawi Revenue Authority (MRA), saying it was done without following the due process, proper procedures and rules. According to Ms Malera, authorities within the MRA used word of mouth to announce the existing vacancies, a thing she has said is tantamount to Maladministration.

Ombudsman for Bermuda Annual Report 2024 Tabled
Michael DeSilva, the Ombudsman for Bermuda, has submitted his Annual Report for 2024 to the Speaker of the House of Assembly in accordance with his statutory duty under the Ombudsman Act 2004. The report was tabled in the House of Assembly on 27 June 2025 and it is now available to the public.

Inspector's report on men's rural prison released
On 19 June, the Palen Creen Correctional Centre inspection report was tabled in parliament. The report was prepared by the Queensland Ombudsman, Anthony Reilly, who is also the Inspector of Detention Services. The report makes 27 recommendations for areas of improvement for the men’s rural prison.

For the first time the UN Committee on the Rights of Persons with Disabilities (CRPD) examined the report of the Polish government on the implementation of the Convention on the Rights of Persons with Disabilities. Deputy Commissioner for Human Rights, Sylwia Spurek, gave a speech on this topic.

Equal treatment of people with hearing impairments in relation to their access to education
The Czech Ombudsman was approached by some of the applicants for study programmes in education with hearing impairments who faced certain obstacles during the application process for the respective studies. As a result, eight public faculties of education werapproached with several enquiries.
