At its session on 3 February 2026, the members of the National Assembly elected Dr. Simona Drenik Bavdek as the new Human Rights Ombudswoman. She will also advocate for the establishment of a children's rights ombudsman in Slovenia, who would be able to operate autonomously within the Ombudsman's institution.

A finales de abril, el Ayuntamiento de Badalona clausuró el albergue Can Bofí Vell, que ofrecía comidas y un lugar para dormir a una cincuentena de personas sin hogar en situación de gran desprotección. Preocupada por la situación en la que quedaban estas personas, la mayoría con situaciones graves de vulnerabilidad y estados de salud bastante deteriorados, el Síndic de Greuges de Catalunya abrió una actuación de oficio para hacer un seguimiento de las alternativas y los recursos que les ofrecía el Ayuntamiento.

2024-10-10Alleged non-payment of 2020 nursing industrial awards for nurses in Central province
In 2020, the Post Courier reported an alleged understaffing of nursing personnel and unpaid nursing awards for nurses in Central province. The Ombudsman Commission invoked its power and registered an own initiative complaint and investigated the matter after having knowledge of the media publication. On 23 February 2024, the Central Provincial Health Authority informed the Ombudsman Commission that all the outstanding nurses’ awards were paid.

En cumplimiento a uno de los puntos de la Recomendación 11/2018 emitida por la Comisión de Derechos Humanos de la Ciudad de México, la Secretaría de Seguridad Ciudadana, la Fiscalía General de Justicia y el Instituto de Servicios Periciales y Ciencias Forenses, ofrecieron una disculpa pública y reconocimiento de responsabilidad en honra y memoria de Josafat Hasam López Balderas. Este acto público solemne cobrará sentido, sólo si se adoptan medidas con vocación transformadora y correctiva, en busca de que casos como éste no sucedan más.

2024-10-10Public Protector South Africa releases reports on investigations it concluded in the second quarter of this year
The Public Protector South Africa (PPSA) on 30 September 2024 issued its reports based on investigations conducted in the second quarter of the 2024/25 financial year. During this period, the PPSA received 1,489 new complaints, of which 756 were early resolution, 641 related to a lack of service delivery, while 92 were in respect of allegations of maladministration and related improprieties in the conduct of state affairs.

The office of the Western Australian Ombudsman has tabled its 2023-24 annual report in Parliament. The report outlines the work of the Office for the year, including receipt of 2,437 complaints and 12,079 enquiries, finalisation of 95% of complaints within 3 months and the acceptance of all recommendations.
