2024-06-06DPU guarantees provisional measures to Tapeba indigenous people in the Inter-American Commission on Human Rights
The Inter-American Commission on Human Rights, based in Washington, accepted the request for provisional measures from the Federal Public Defenders' Office to guarantee the rights of the Tapeba indigenous people of Caucaia, a municipality in the metropolitan region of Fortaleza, in the state of Ceará. Resolution 28/2024, issued on 9 May 2024, requires the Brazilian State to adopt necessary measures to protect the life and personal integrity of members of this people.

The CCAC suggests the relevant departments pay more attention to the work of disseminating preliminary information and broadening the general public's knowledge in order to allow them to better understand and gain knowledge of the relevant legal regime about economic housing.

La institución Defensor del Pueblo ha elevado a la ministra de Inclusión, Seguridad Social y Migraciones la recomendación para que se modifique la Ley General de la Seguridad Social, de modo que las subvenciones y ayudas destinadas a rehabilitación, mantenimiento o mejora de la vivienda habitual, que reciben particulares o comunidades de propietarios, no computen a efectos del límite de ingresos que se exige para la percepción del complemento a pensiones mínimas contributivas (jubilación, viudedad), así como otras prestaciones de Seguridad Social de naturaleza asistencial o no contributiva.
