    The CCAC co-organized Integrity Week with two Secondary Schools

    In order to further promote integrity awareness among secondary students and foster teenagers’ honesty and righteousness, the Commission against Corruption of Macao (CCAC) co-organized the “Integrity Week” with two Secondary Schools in March. In addition, this year the CCAC launched a seminar entitled “A Talk on Integrity for Secondary School Graduates” to provide practical guidelines on integrity for secondary school graduates.

    Ombudswoman submits official 2010 report to Parliament

    In 2010 complaints increased by 56% to 34.674 files as the economic crisis continues to feature prominently in the letters from citizens. On 6 April, 'el Defensor del Pueblo' submitted their official annual report to the Presidents of the Spanish Congress and Senate.

    Iowa's Ombuds Office received over 4700 contacts for assistance in 2010, according to a report released 1 June 2011. Over 80 percent were complaints or information requests about state and local government agencies.

    Fresh from the press, the second annual “Rule of Law Index” was released on 13 June 2011 in Washington DC by the World Justice Project. The Index provides detailed information, which enables stakeholders to assess a nation's adherence to the rule of law in practice, identify strengths and weaknesses, and track changes over time.

    Vienna SYT training - I.O.I. funded nine scholarships

    For the second time the Sharpening Your Teeth Training for staff members of ombudsman institutions was hosted by the Vienna-based General Secretariat. The I.O.I. financed nine scholarships for participants from Lesotho, Tanzania, Uganda, Mauritius, Australia, Papua New Guinea, Saint Lucia, Sint Maarten and Romania.
