La Sindicatura insta al Ayuntamiento a reforzar los servicios de atención a las víctimas de violencias sexuales
La defensoría de la ciudad publica el informe monográfico "Los servicios de atención a las violencias sexuales en la ciudad de Barcelona", en el que han participado más de un centenar de personas que trabajan en servicios sociales y sanitarios y en entidades autogestionadas. Así mismo, se han analizado protocolos y otros documentos específicos, así como los 18 servicios especializados que existen en la ciudad.

Roma acogerá la III Edición Italiana de la Conferencia Internacional de los Ombudsman
La III Edición Italiana de la Conferencia Internacional de los Ombudsman se celebrará en Roma los días 28 y 29 de mayo de 2026, en la sede del Parlamento Italiano. La Conferencia constituye un acontecimiento de altísima relevancia internacional, que reunirá a Ombudsman, Mediadores, expertos, académicos y representantes institucionales procedentes de numerosos países y continentes, confirmando el papel central de las instituciones de control en la protección de los derechos fundamentales y en el fortalecimiento de los sistemas democráticos.

El Parlamento Vasco designa ararteko a Mikel Mancisidor
El 18 de diciembre de 2025, el pleno del Parlamento Vasco designó a Mikel Mancisidor para ocupar el cargo de ararteko (Ombudsman de Euskadi). Sucede en el cargo a Manuel Lezertua, que presentó su renuncia en junio de 2025. El nuevo ararteko tomará posesión del cargo de ararteko el próximo 5 de febrero de 2026.

Direct investigation operation into Government’s work on landslide prevention and mitigation and management of government slopes completed
On 8 January 2026, the Ombudsman, Mr Jack Chan, announced the completion of a direct investigation operation into the work of the Government of the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region on landslide prevention and mitigation as well as management of government slopes, with 32 major recommendations for improvements made to the Civil Engineering and Development Department, the Lands Department, the Highways Department, the Water Supplies Department and the Architectural Services Department.
