Le 18 mai 2026, la Présidente de l’Assemblée générale des Nations Unies, Mme Annalena Baerbock, a organisé une table ronde de haut niveau au siège des Nations Unies à New York sur l’importance du respect des Principes de Venise par les institutions d’ombudsman, conformément à la résolution 79/177 de l’Assemblée générale. La table ronde a réuni Mme Nadine Mailloux, présidente de l’IIO et ombudsman de Montréal, Mme Angie Cruickshank Lambert, médiatrice de la République du Costa Rica, et M. Rafael Bustos Gisbert, membre espagnol de la Commission de Venise du Conseil de l’Europe.
