La Diputada del Común, Lola Padrón, ha solicitado a la Consejería de Presidencia, Administraciones Publicas, Justicia y Seguridad que se adopten las medidas necesarias para que, con la diligencia debida y en estricto cumplimiento de la Ley Canaria de Educación no Universitaria, se proceda a destinar al presupuesto educativo el 5% del producto interior bruto canario, conforme al mínimo que regula la citada Ley. Padrón asegura que es preciso que se cumpla la Ley 6/2014, de 25 de julio, “en aras de alcanzar el logro de los principios rectores del sistema educativo canario”.

El 1 de marzo de 2024 tenía lugar el acto de celebración del 5.º aniversario del Pacto contra la segregación escolar, que impulsaron en 2019 la institución del Síndic de Greuges de Catalunya y el Departamento de Educación, con la voluntad de promover políticas de lucha contra ese fenómeno.

Record cases handled by Toronto Ombudsman in 2024 indicate increasing demand for accountability in local government
The City of Toronto’s Ombudsman handled 4,929 cases in 2024, a 43 per cent increase over the previous year and the highest on record. The most common fairness issues stemmed from poor communication, including no or delayed responses and inconsistent or incorrect information from City staff.

A government that truly serves its citizens makes plans that are realistic and feasible. Sindh Ombudsman establishes Climate & Disaster Justice Unit
The Provincial Ombudsman Sindh, Mr. Muhammad Sohail Rajput, inaugurated the one-of-its-kind Climate & Disaster Justice Unit, a pioneering initiative to ensure expeditious and justifiable redressal of complaints stemming from climate-related and man-made disasters. The Unit will be a fast-paced mechanism resolving issues of delay, corruption, or neglect in relief, rehabilitation and public service delivery. It will be working on safeguarding vulnerable groups, inclusive governance, and coordination with UN agencies, NGOs, and civil society.
