CONTROL YUAN, TAIWAN | Taiwan and France sign agreement strengthening bilateral cooperation on Human Rights

On November 3, 2022, National Human Rights Commission Chairperson, Chen Chu, Director of the French Office in Taipei, Jean-François Casabonne-Masonnave, and CEO of Expertise France, Jérémie Pellet, jointly signed a work content agreement. Given the ongoing pandemic, Mr. Pellet completed his signing in Paris first.

This follows the signing by Chairperson Chen and Director Casabonne-Masonnave of a joint statement of intent to cooperate in July 2022. The French side has agreed to send human rights experts to Taiwan and assist Taiwanese and French human rights organizations in exchanges, provide professional advice and consultation, and further implement and strengthen the strategic goals and mechanisms of cooperation and exchange between the two sides. This agreement represents a major milestone in human rights cooperation between Taiwan and France.
