Pakistan | Ombudsmen Institutions Safeguard Human Rights

Hon’ble Ombudsman Punjab Major Azam Suleman Khan (Retd.) (Hilal-i-Imtiaz) attended the 3rd General Assembly Meeting of the Organization of Islamic Countries Ombudsman Association (OICOA) held in Turkey from 5 to 6 October 2023. While addressing the OICOA General Assembly, the Hon’ble Ombudsman Punjab said that Pakistan stands affirmed with the world ombudsmen institutions to safeguard human rights and providing justice to the aggrieved persons nearer to their doorsteps. He briefed the participants of the General Assembly about the performance of the Office of Ombudsman Punjab working in all the districts of the most densely populated province of Pakistan. He further expressed that during the year 2022, his office performed marvelously and achieved landmark targets in terms of complaints received and disposed of and the financial value of relief provided to the aggrieved persons. He also highlighted some of the remarkable initiatives which were taken in recent years to measure up to the expectations of the aggrieved persons.

Hon’ble Ombudsman Punjab also presented memento of Office of Ombudsman Punjab to Excellency Mr. Şeref Malkoç, in recognition of his great services as the Chief Ombudsman of the Republic of Türkiye / President OICOA.
