Angola | Ombudsman wants to cooperate with the Kingdom of Norway and highlights Human Rights as a Priority of their Work Agenda

The Honorable Ombudsman of the Republic of Angola, Dra Florbela Araújo, on the 1st of December of the current year, held a meeting with the Ambassador of the Kingdom of Norway, accredited in Angola, HE Bjornar Dahl Hotvdt, accompanied by a delegation of senior officials from the Norwegian Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the approach focused on cooperation and exchange of experience in matters related to human rights and the crime of torture.

The Ombudsman gave a brief explanation of the Institution's attributions, legal framework and presented the fulfillment of some actions, also highlighting its integration in international organizations such as IOI, AOMA, REDE-CPLP of Ombudsmen considered this meeting very positive , asking this diplomat to support the Kingdom of Norway for the candidacy of the Ombudsman of Justice of Angola, with the Global Alliance of Human Rights Institutions.

The Norwegian diplomat highlighted the importance of the role of the Ombudsman, as an institution that watches over the rights, freedoms and guarantees of citizens, having taken advantage at the moment to share his experience in annual sessions on the su bject linked to citizens' rights.
