PAKISTAN | Ombudsman Punjab Strengthens Pakistan’s Role at the 26th Asian Ombudsman Association Meeting in Nanjing, China

The Honourable Ombudsman Punjab, Ayesha Hamid, represented Pakistan at the 26th Meeting of the Board of Directors (BOD) and the 18th General Assembly (GA) of the Asian Ombudsman Association (AOA), hosted by the National Commission of Supervision of China in Nanjing from 9 to 10 September 2025. The event convened ombudsman leaders, oversight institutions, and experts from across Asia, providing a dynamic platform to deliberate on common challenges, institutional cooperation, and strategies for citizen-centered governance.

This participation reinforced Pakistan’s growing recognition as a leading voice in the international ombudsman community. By engaging in constructive dialogue and experience-sharing, the Ombudsman Punjab underscored the institution’s provincial and national contributions to transparency, accountability, and effective governance. The visit also created valuable momentum ahead of the upcoming IOI Asian Regional Meeting and International Conference 2025, which Pakistan is proudly hosting in Lahore from 7 to 9 October 2025.

The presence and contributions of the Honourable Ombudsman Punjab in Nanjing not only advanced Pakistan’s profile within the global ombudsman fraternity but also reaffirmed the Office’s unwavering commitment to ensuring accessible, impartial, and citizen-focused justice.
