BAHRAIN | Ombudsman office published Annual Report 2019-2020

It is with pleasure that the Ombudsman Office announces the publication of its independent seventh Annual Report 2019/2020. This year the Ombudsman received a total of 890 grievances of which 207 were complaints and 683 were assistance requests.

This year has seen the lives of people everywhere changed by the deadly coronavirus COVID 19. The virus has presented difficult and extraordinary challenges for individuals and service providers. Organisations have had to make unprecedented arrangements to adapt to the requirements of isolation and social distancing and the Ombusman Office has been determined that its work to support those in need, continues.

The government of Bahrain has taken significant measures to control the spread of the virus and to reduce its negative impact across all sectors. In line with this, the Ombudsman has taken specific measures to ensure the continuity of its independent and impartial service delivery.

The Ombudsman Office continues to be an important part of the architecture of accountability in the Kingdom of Bahrain and presents its Annual Report 2019-2020, the purpose of which is to provide account of the work of the Office over the year and to share its performance statistics.
