MALAWI | Office of the Ombudsman in Capacity Building drive for staff

On Friday, 9 February 2024, Members of Staff for the Office of the Ombudsman took time off their busy schedules for a capacity building workshop where they reflected on the year gone by and strategized for 2024.

The workshop which was sponsored by Open Society Initiative for Southern Africa (Osisa) brought together officers of Office of the Ombudsman from all the regions and the headquarters.

The officers were drilled on matters of ethics and integrity by the Anti-Corruption Bureau, Mental Health by officials from the Ministry of Health further to the team building exercises.

Ombudsman Grace Malera also led the office into a retreat where the officers interacted in an informal set up, sharing experiences and working on mechanisms to improve productivity of the office.

The officers were taken through sessions of aerobics, beach soccer, games, teasers and many more.

In her remarks, Honorable Malera encouraged each of the officers to reflect on the value they bring to the Ombudsman team and ensure that the work of everyone brings the necessary impact.
