NEW ZEALAND | New Zealand report: "Oversight"

New Zealand Ombudsman Peter Boshier has released an investigation report that finds serious failings in the Ministry of Health’s stewardship of a network of services for people with an intellectual disability and high and complex needs, including people requiring secure hospital care.

Oversight finds that the Ministry failed to adequately plan for, monitor, or advise on growing capacity issues and other problems within the High and Complex Framework.

Mr Boshier made a number of recommendations to address the issues that had accumulated over some years.
