Armenia | Human Rights Defender held working meeting with the President of the National Assembly

The Human Rights Defender Mr. Arman Tatoyan had a working meeting with the President of the National Assembly of the Republic of Armenia Mr. Ararat Mirzoyan on June 26 2020.

The President of the National Assembly and the Human Rights Defender summarized the passing year. Mr. Ararat Mirzoyan noted that during the first part of the year 2020 the cooperation between the Parliament and the Human Rights Defender have been effective, especially cooperation aimed at ensuring human rights by legislative means during the Covid-19 pandemic.

The Human Rights Defender Arman Tatoyan stressed the importance of joint activities related to the law-making process and highlighted fruitful cooperation with the Office of the National Assembly President. Effectiveness of joint work with deputies and parliamentary committees, the exchange of information and experience, and the commitment to jointly solve the issues within the state has been highlighted.

Parties agreed to continue cooperation and strengthen joint efforts towards human rights protection and continues improvement of the law-making process.
