THAILAND | Chief Ombudsman of Thailand received a courtesy call from Ombudsman for Human Rights and Justice of Timor-Leste

On 27 October 2023, Mr. Somsak Suwansujarit, Chief Ombudsman of Thailand, received Mr. Virgilio da Silva Guterres, Ombudsman (Provedor) for Human Rights and Justice of Timor-Leste, during a courtesy visit to the Office of the Ombudsman of Thailand.

In this occasion, Chief Ombudsman of Thailand and the Ombudsman (Provedor) for Human Rights and Justice of Timor-Leste discussed achievements and progress of activities implemented under the signed Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) between the two institutions as well as possibilities to undertake initiatives in the next phase.

Both Ombudsmen agreed to place importance on exchanging of information, knowledge and experience concerning Ombudsmanship and practices and procedures to be carried on. The collaborative activities will be conducted at not only bilateral level but also through multilateral level, with the intention to strengthen cooperative ties and support the performance of duties of the Ombudsmen, particularly in Southeast Asian region.
