ITALY | Adele Squillaci elected as new Ombudsman of Valle d’Aosta

Adele Squillaci is the Ombudsman of the Valle d’Aosta. She was elected for a five-year term by the Valle d’Aosta Council in the morning session of 12 January 2022. She takes over from Enrico Formento Dojot, who has served two terms since 2012.

Adele Squillaci is a law graduate from the University of Turin. A regional employee, since 2018 she has been an official of the Regional Council assigned to the Office of the Ombudsman.

Alberto Bertin, President of the Valle d’Aosta Council, wished Ms Squillaci all the best in her work as Ombudsman and thanked her predecessor Enrico Formento Dojot for the work he has done over the last ten years, during which the Ombudsman has become firmly established in the Valle d’Aosta community.

"The work of this important autonomous body revolves around a few key words: Support for people in solving problems with the public administration, mediation aimed at linking institutions and communities, and proposals for improving administrative action. In carrying out these important functions, I will try above all to foster communication and mediation between citizens and public administration. My priority will be to give concrete answers, in the dialogue with the public administrations, to all the users who directly request them, said Ombudsman Squillaci.
