Departing Ombudsman Gammeltoft-Hansen submitted the annual report on his activities for the year 2010 to parliament

The Pacific Ombudsman Alliance published its Issue 26 of the Pacific Ombudsman Alliance Network

Citizen’s Representative Barry Fleming laid the  annual report for 2010-2011 before the House of Assembly. The fourth annual report shows a profile of the work in the most productive year of this office.

Korea has implemented the “Act on the Protection of the Public Interest Whistleblowers” in order to protect whistleblowers who report any violation of the public interest in both public and private sectors.

Mr Pramote Chotimongkol will be leaving his position as Chief Ombudsman of Thailand after having completed his six year term in August 2011.

On November 8, 2011, Ontario Ombudsman André Marin launched a “mobile app” version of his office’s website. This web application will make it easier for the public to connect with his office via smartphones and tablets.

In order to strengthen its regional activities the I.O.I. offered a subvention for a “Sharpening Your Teeth” Training, presented by Ontario Ombudsman André Marin, to the North American Region.

In its efforts to further increase the regional visibility of the I.O.I., the I.O.I. Board of Directors decided at its Zambia meeting in November 2011 to make once again regional subsidies available to its members.
