On 23 August 2017 Public Protector Protector Adv. Busisiwe Mkhwebane commemorated Women’s Month in Limpopo. The Office of the Public Protector took the opportunity of this event to set up a makeshift service point, which allowed locals to file complaints to the Public Protector.

Se evalúo la incorporación de estas oficinas al organigrama de las instituciones, asignación de presupuesto y personal, entre otros puntos.

An Ombudsman investigation report relating to the conditions faced by women in the Alice Springs Women's Correctional Facility has been tabled in the Legislative Assembly. Women in Prison II revisits similar issues to those discussed in a 2008 Ombudsman report. It concludes that progress since then has been limited at best.

The course takes place October 16-18, 2017, in Toronto, Ontario and covers investigation planning, interviewing, assessing evidence, report writing, and using digital and social media tools to conduct and publicize an investigation.

Older vulnerable people are often reliant on relatives to raise concerns when things go wrong in hospital. However – as a survey, published by Gransnet and the Parliamentary and Health Service Ombudsman revealed – over half of family members with a concern find it difficult to complain about the hospital care or treatment of an relative.

In the opinion of the Commissioner for Fundamental Rights, the state does not completely fulfill its obligations, as the cases of deaths in residential care homes are not automatically followed by objective, professional inquiries, independent from the age of the deceased person and the maintainer of the institution. In his report, Ombudsman László Székely requested the Minister of Human Capacities to act as soon as possible.
