Toronto Ombudsman Kwame Addo says Toronto Hydro acted unfairly by holding a property owner responsible for approximately $20,000 worth of repairs to a hydro vault it never told him he owned. Ombudsman Addo launched the investigation after receiving a complaint from Mr. A., who purchased a unit in a Toronto plaza in 1980.

The meeting of the Consultative Council of the Public Defender was held within the framework of the EU-funded project "Support to the Public Defender’s Office of Georgia".

Règlement européen sur l’intelligence artificielle : la Défenseure des droits appelle à la nécessaire prise en compte des droits fondamentaux et du principe de non-discrimination
En avril 2021, la Commission européenne a publié une proposition de règlement sur l’intelligence artificielle (IA). Depuis, le Défenseur des droits et la Commission nationale consultative des droits de l’Homme ont respectivement apporté leurs contributions. Tous deux plaident pour la prise en compte des droits fondamentaux et du droit de la non-discrimination dans le cadre juridique en cours de négociation.
