Dans un rapport d’intervention rendu public aujourd’hui, le Protecteur du citoyen du Québec conclut que l’admission pour des soins de santé d’une ressortissante étrangère dans un hôpital montréalais, en décembre 2011, s’est faite en dehors des mécanismes habituels d’accès et de tout encadrement gouvernemental. IOI supports idea of establishing Ombudsman institution in Chile
During the last electoral campaign in Chile, the electoral programmes of both presidential candidates considered the establishment of an Ombudsman institution as one of the oldest and most important instruments for a modern democratic society. The IOI strongly supports the idea of establishing such an ombudsman institution and sent a letter of support to President Michelle Bachelet.

At the beginning of June, the Office of the Parliamentary Ombudsmen – JO, was hosting the Nordic Ombudsmen Meeting in the town Ystad in the southern part of Sweden. The Nordic Ombudsmen comprises of Ombudsmen from Denmark, Finland, Faroe Islands, Greenland, Iceland, Norway and Sweden.

In the past two weeks there has been a lot of media attention on the election of Mr Van Woerkom as National Ombudsman of the Netherlands.
