Ombudsman hands over the Annual reports of the Ombudsman and NPM to the Speaker of the National Assembly
On 6 June 2024, Human Rights Ombudsman Peter Svetina handed over the 29th regular Annual Report of the Human Rights Ombudsman and the 16th report of the National Preventive Mechanism for 2023 to the Speaker of the National Assembly of the Republic of Slovenia, Urška Klakočar Zupančič, MA, after he had forwarded it to the National Assembly one day prior in accordance with Article 5 of the Human Rights Ombudsman Act. After the meeting, the Ombudsman and the Speaker of the DZ made a public statement.

The Turks and Caicos Office of the Complaints Commissioner is excited to unveil its newly revamped website, set to go live on Tuesday, 11 June 2024, at 12:00 pm. Under the leadership of the esteemed Honorable Rita Gardiner, OBE, the Ombudsman serves as a government body that investigates complaints of maladministration against public authorities and institutions. It strives to improve the efficiency of public services while also educating individuals about their rights.

Awareness campaign carried out in Southern Region i.e. Karak, Bannu and Miranshah (Nearly Merged District)
The Provincial Ombudsman Khyber Pakhtunkhwa carried out an awareness raising campaign in the Southern Region of the Province in May 2024. This project was supported by the IOI's Regional Subsidy Programme.

Access to justice for asylum seekers and refugees: a call for help from IOI members
The Northern Ireland Public Services Ombudsman (NIPSO) is delighted to announce the launch of a collaborative research project examining the role of ombudspersons in the protection of refugees and asylum seekers (the OPRAS project). In order to carry out the OPRAS project the University of Glasgow has received funding from the British Academy and is being carried out in collaboration with Professor Chris Gill.

BC Ombudsperson sees youth in custody at risk due to ministry inaction
The BC Ombudsperson has identified a serious lack of progress by the Ministry of Children and Family Development on a 2021 Ombudsperson report with troubling findings about separate confinement of youth in custody centres. “The ministry’s inaction continues to expose vulnerable youth in its care to the risk of significant harm from separate confinement, especially Indigenous youth,” said Ombudsperson Jay Chalke.
