2024-10-02Ombudsman’s recommendations to address issues arising from the implementation of “Universal Coverage for Emergency Patients” policy
The Universal Coverage for Emergency Patients is a government policy presented to the parliament by the Council of Ministers. The Council of Ministers has approved the criteria, methoos, and conditions for determining costs associated with treating critical emergency patients under the UCEP policy. As this policy involves multiple government agencies and ministries, the Thailand Ombudsman’s fact-finding results and recommendations have been submitted to the Prime Minister for review and appropriate action.

El defensor del Pueblo a cargo de la Defensoría Provincial de Niñas, Niños y Adolescentes, Gabriel Savino, fue uno de los principales oradores del Simposio Jurídico Digital de Cyberseg Latam, que se llevó a cabo en la Universidad Nacional del Litoral bajo el lema “Enfoques y Desafíos en la Lucha Contra el Cibercrimen y los Delitos Sexuales Online”. En su intervención, abordó la creciente complejidad del entorno digital y sus implicancias en los derechos de niñas, niños y adolescentes, resaltando la necesidad de adaptar las instituciones a estos cambios.

Durante su intervención en el Consejo Nacional de Seguridad Ciudadana (Conasec), desarrollado en la ciudad de Chiclayo, el defensor del pueblo, Josué Gutiérrez, invocó al Poder Ejecutivo a tener un mayor liderazgo en la lucha contra la criminalidad, a través del rediseño de las medidas que no han tenido efectividad para la reducción de los índices de inseguridad y el fortalecimiento de aquellas de carácter preventivo para detener la ola de ataques que viene afectando a la población.

Peter Boshier began an investigation after he received a complaint about the Associate Minister’s refusal to release information on ‘who’ wrote or compiled notes she used to formulate the government’s tobacco policy.
