The workshop will be opened with a dinner on Tuesday 29 April, to provide a networking opportunity for all participants. It will be organised by the Queen Margaret University jointly with the Centre for Socio-Legal Studies at Oxford University and the Foundation for Law, Justice and Society.

Following the passage of the Water Services Act 2012, the existing Energy Ombudsman Western Australia has become the Energy and Water Ombudsman Western Australia and therefore investigates complaints concerning the provision of services by electricity, gas and water services providers.

Vacancy on European Regional Board
Following the resignation of Mr. Alex Brenninkmeijer, a vacancy has occurred on the European Regional Board of the IOI. At the recent meeting of the European Board in Brussels, it was agreed that the preferred option for filling the vacancy left by Mr Brenninkmeijer’s resignation was an electronic ballot.

Government House Bermuda has announced the appointment of Ms Victoria Pearman as the next Ombudsman. Ms Pearman will succeed Ms Arlene Brock, whose term of office will finish on 31 January 2014.

Conseil d’administration adopte résolution sur Covid-19
L’éruption de la maladie à coronavirus ( COVID 19 ) et l’évolution rapide de la pandémie ont eu un effet énorme sur nous tous, mais l’effet de cette maladie sur les personnes les plus vulnérables de nos sociétés a été disproportionnel.Le rôle de l’Ombudsman est essentiel quand il s’agit de veiller à ce que les gens aient accès aux services publics dont ils ont besoin et que ces services soient fournis équitablement. Dans une résolution adoptée par le Conseil d’administration de l’IIO le 18 mai 2020, l’IIO s’exprime sur cette question et demande à toutes les institutions de l’ombudsman de multiplier leurs efforts.
