Following its call for applications for regional subsidies for the membership year 2014/2015, the IOI decided to extend the deadline for applications, allowing member institutions to turn in their applications for regional subsidies until 27 February 2015.

Las quejas por los derechos sociales son la causa principal de las reclamaciones que le dirigen los ciudadanos y ciudadanas al Defensor del Pueblo Andaluz. Y, más concretamente, las demandas por mantener o no perder los que ya disfrutaban, frente a las motivaciones de antes de la crisis, de mejorar la aplicación de estos derechos o como incorporar otros nuevos. El Defensor del Pueblo Andaluz, Jesús Maeztu, ha compartido esta reflexión durante la presentación del libro “Derechos estatutarios y defensores del pueblo. Teoría y práctica en España e Italia”.

The IOI’s European Region carried out two surveys among its members. One survey focused on “Own Initiative Investigations” and the other one dealt with the “Implementation of the ADR Directive”, i.e. the EU’s Alternative Dispute Resolution Directive.

El Diputado del Común, Jerónimo Saavedra, ha anunciado que el número de quejas que ha recibido la institución que preside ha vuelto a crecer en la pasada anualidad de 2014, con un total de 1.648, frente a las 1.604 registradas en 2013. Es decir, 44 quejas más que ponen de manifiesto la creciente confianza de los ciudadanos en este organismo que está al servicio de la defensa de los derechos fundamentales y las libertades públicas.

Con motivo de sus 25 años de vida, la Defensoría del Pueblo de la Provincia de Santa Fe inicia este 2015 un plan de puesta en valor del edificio donde funciona la Sede Rosario. En este marco, y con la intención de brindar la mejor atención a los ciudadanos, desde el miércoles 21 de enero y hasta que finalicen las obras, la atención al público se realizará en la nueva sede provisoria.
