On 28 February 2014 the Ombudsman of Ukraine Mrs. Valeriya Lutkovska presented her Special Report on “Violations of human rights and freedoms during events which happened in Ukraine over the period since 21 November 2013 to 22 February 2014” according to paragraph 3 Article 18 of the Law on the Ukrainian Parliament Commissioner for Human Rights.

IOI members in Armenia, Croatia, Guatemala and Haiti accredited with ‘A Status’ by the ICC
In March 2014, the International Coordination Committee (ICC) of National Human Rights Institutions holds its 27th Annual Meeting in Geneva. In the course of the meeting, four IOI member institutions in Armenia, Croatia, Guatemala and Haiti have been accredited as being in full compliance with the Paris Principles.

Aujourd’hui, l’Ombudsman de l’Ontario, André Marin, s’est réjoui de l’annonce faite par le gouvernement provincial indiquant qu’il élargira le mandat du Bureau de l’Ombudsman au « secteur MUSH » – c’est-à-dire au vaste secteur parapublic financé par la Province et composé des municipalités, des universités, des conseils scolaires et des hôpitaux, ainsi que des foyers de soins de longue durée, des sociétés d’aide à l’enfance et de la police.

La Defensoría del Pueblo realizó la primera mediación exitosa del nuevo Sistema Procesal Penal
El Centro de Mediación y Resolución de Conflictos de la Defensoría del Pueblo de la provincia de Santa Fe realizó la primera mediación penal exitosa en el marco del nuevo Sistema Procesal Penal. Con asistencia de mediadores de la ciudad de Rosario, se llegó a un acuerdo entre transportistas y una firma agropecuaria de Las Parejas por un conflicto que había derivado en el bloqueo del establecimiento comercial y una posterior denuncia en la Comisaría por parte del titular de la firma.

El Defensor del Pueblo de la provincia de Santa Fe, Dr. Edgardo José Bistoletti, se reunió en Buenos Aires recientemente con los embajadores en la Argentina de Nueva Zelandia y Austria, en el marco de los preparativos para la reunión de la Junta Directiva IIO, cuyos representantes se encontrarán entre el lunes 27 y el miércoles 29 de octubre en Rosario. Este encuentro es la continuación de los que esta prestigiosa institución, realizó en los últimos tres años en las ciudades de Wellington, Viena y Nueva York.

Preparations to receive the IOI Board of Directors in Rosario
In preparation of the 2014 meeting of the IOI Board of Directors, the Ombudsman of the Province of Santa Fe, Dr. Edgardo José Bistoletti, recently met with the Ambassadors of New Zealand and Austria in Argentina to invite them to attend the official opening ceremony of the meeting.
