2016-03-25Follow-up NPM workshop in Vilnius from 21-23 June 2016
The IOI is pleased to inform its members that the training cooperation established with the Association for the Prevention of Torture (APT) will find its continuation in a follow-up NPM workshop with a special focus on the monitoring of psychiatric facilities. The workshop will be hosted by the Seimas Ombudsmen’s Office of the Republic of Lithuania in Vilnius from 21 to 23 June 2016 and registration is now open.

A delegation of the Ombudsman Office of Thailand visited the Control Yuan (CY) for exchanges of practical experience on March 23, 2016. The delegation was led by Chief Ombudsman Siracha Vongsarayankura and included academics and investigators from the office.

Ottawa (Ontario) - Le 23 mars 2016: Suite au budget fédéral dévoilé hier, M. Guy Parent, ombudsman des vétérans, a dit ce qui suit : « C’était là la première occasion pour le gouvernement de concrétiser son mandat, et je crois qu’il s’agit d’un départ prometteur pour les vétérans et leur famille. »

Mr. Anthony C. Mifsud, FCIPD, was sworn in as Parliamentary Ombudsman in a ceremony presided over by H.E. Marie-Louise Coleiro Preca, President of Malta and in the presence of the Prime Minister, the Hon. Joseph Muscat, the Speaker of the House, the Hon. Angelo Farrugia and the Leader of the Opposition, the Hon. Simon Busuttil.
