Durante el encuentro, que se realizó en la sede de Adpra de la ciudad de Buenos Aires, el defensor santafesino Raúl Lamberto solicitó, con el respaldo de sus pares, que se restituyan todas las pensiones dadas de baja y que se derogue el decreto 432/97, para crear un protocolo donde se evalúe cada caso en particular y donde prime el principio de interpretación favorable del postulante a la pensión.

Se presentó el nuevo isologotipo de la Defensoría del Pueblo
El defensor del Pueblo, Raúl Lamberto, mostró en Santa Fe la nueva imagen que identificará a la institución, elegida entre más de 120 propuestas que se presentaron en un concurso abierto. También se entregó el premio a la diseñadora ganadora, la joven capitalina Lucila Inés Baratti.

Northern Ireland Public Services Ombudsman Quarterly Bulletin 2018
Northern Ireland Public Services Ombudsman, Marie Anderson, publishes her second Quarterly Bulletin. This includes reports on complaints about the treatment provided by a GP to a patient with breast cancer, the way a Council dealt with a planning application for a wind turbine, and the care and treatment of patients within two Health Trusts. This edition of the Bulletin also provides a further update on the important work within her Office to prepare for the first ‘own initiative’ investigations and their ongoing research project to explore issues in public sector complaints handling.

Resolving complaints to the Ombudsman early
In late 2016, the Victorian Ombudsman created an Early Resolution Team which identifies matters that can be resolved informally, focusing on practical outcomes. The team now handles about 85 per cent of approaches to the Ombudsman, closing most within 30 days.

Establecimiento del Capítulo Mexicano del ILO
El pasado viernes 28 de Julio se estableció en la Ciudad de México el Capítulo Mexicano del Instituto Latinoamericano del Ombudsman-Defensorías del Pueblo (ILO). En la ceremonia protocolaria, el Presidente del ILO, Carlos Constenla dirigió un estimulante mensaje a los miembros del Capítulo, destacando la historia del ILO y su expansión, así como el significado de ampliar las fronteras del ILO hasta otras latitudes, en el caso a México.

Ombudsman Hong Kong publishes latest issue of Annual Report
On 17 July 2018, the Ombudsman, Ms Connie Lau, released to the public her Annual Report 2018. During the year covered by the report, the Office of The Ombudsman saw record highs in the numbers of direct investigations completed, mediation cases handled and complaints relating to access to information lodged with the Office. Around 90 per cent of the recommendations made by the Office have been accepted by government departments and public bodies for implementation.
