As Secretary General of the International Ombudsman Institute (IOI), the Austrian Ombudsman Werner Amon met the President of the Ibero-American Federation (FIO), Pablo Ulloa, who has also been the Ombudsman of the Dominican Republic since 2021. The meeting took place in Santo Domingo in the Dominican Republic in February 2022. The topics of the discussion were a potential membership of the Dominican Republic in the IOI and closer cooperation betwe en the FIO and the IOI.

The Ombudsman is pleased to present her special report on “Bus Service – Communications”, which was tabled in the House of Assembly on 18 February 2022. The Department of Public Transportation (“DPT”) agreed to the Ombudsman’s recommendations, to improve its way of approaching communications about the Bus Services.

Ceslav Panico has been appointed People’s Advocate (Ombudsman) Moldova for a term of seven years. A decision in this regard was approved by the Parliament on February 3, 2022, with the vote of 57 deputies. During the same meeting, Ceslav Panico took the oath.

Canadian Council of Parliamentary Ombudsman welcomes Prince Edward Island's first Ombudsperson
Prince Edward Island’s (PEI) becomes the latest province to appoint an independent officer responsible for ensuring fairness and providing a safe avenue for whistleblower complaints in the public service. Sandy Hermiston will take office as the province’s first Ombudsperson and Public Interest Disclosure Commissioner on 14 February 2022. The Canadian Council of Parliamentary Ombudsman (CCPO) warmly welcomes the news.

Researches on education management over the past 20 years have shown, that the first 5 years of life are the critical period to form a foundation of human personality.
