Ombudsman’s staff attends training on monitoring the rights of the child
In recent days, the Ombudsman Office in coordination with UNICEF country office launched five day training on increasing capacities to monitor the child rights for the members of the national preventive group and heads of the Regional Offices of the Ombudsman. UNICEF international experts Mr. Reider Hiermann and Ms. Anna Nordenmark were involved into this event as trainers.

L’ombudsman des vétérans, Guy Parent, a publié aujourd’hui les résultats d’une évaluation de la mise en œuvre, par Anciens Combattants Canada, des huit recommandations contenues dans son rapport de 2011 intitulé Le droit des vétérans de connaître les motifs des décisions : Une question d’équité procédurale, et son rapport de 2012 intitulé Le droit des vétérans à la divulgation : Une question d’équité procédurale. Les deux rapports précisaient les améliorations requises pour assurer la transparence et l’équité du processus de présentation et d’évaluation des demandes de prestations d’invalidité d’Anciens Combattants Canada.

Victoria Ombudsman recommends reform of political donation laws
Rules governing donations to political candidates in Victoria are inadequate and should be reformed to protect both public confidence in the electoral system and the reputation of people standing for election. Such changes would be considered under the recommendation tabled by the Victorian Ombudsman in Parliament today.

Ombudsman Sindh orders the Municipal Authorities of Karachi to furnish information to NGO
The Provincial Ombudsman initiated action on behalf of the complainant, as the Executive Engineer of the District Municipal Corporation, Karachi East had refused to provide information, though the complainant was entitled to get the same under the Freedom of Information Act, 2006.
