Nuevo presidente del FòrumSD
El Defensor de la Ciudadanía de Girona, ha finalizado su mandato de 2 años como Presidente de los defensores locales de Cataluña. Y en la asamblea celebrada en Santa Coloma de Gramenet, el 28 de marzo de 2017, se ha nombrado al Síndico de Cornellà, Joan Barrera, como nuevo presidente del FòrumSD, que agrupa 40 Defensorias municipales.

Ombudsman and Medical Council agreement will benefit the public and health services
On 23 March 2017, the Medical Council and the Office of the Ombudsman signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) that will allow for the exchange of information and complaints between both offices. The MoU will benefit both the public and health services. The agreement will also establish procedures to assist members of the public in accessing the services of both organisations.

Underaged prisoners and their possibilities of attending school and studying
The law and international recommendations require that minors in prison are kept separate from adults. According to observations made during prison visits of the Parliamentary Ombudsman, this does not happen. Prisons do not have suitable facilities for accommodating minors that are separate from adults.

La Defensora del Pueblo, Soledad Becerril, ha presentado este martes ante la Comisión Mixta de Relaciones con el Defensor del Pueblo el Informe Anual de la Institución correspondiente a 2016, un año en el que las Administraciones han aceptado un 82% de las recomendaciones y sugerencias formuladas por el Defensor del Pueblo.

El estudio recupera y sintetiza el trabajo realizado por la PPN respecto a la cuestión de las requisas, pone especial énfasis en destacar la distancia entre los derechos y garantías de las personas privadas de su libertad reconocidos a nivel constitucional y legal e incluye el proyecto legislativo presentado por este organismo ante el Congreso en octubre de 2016.
