Passing away of Mrs Grace Phiri
On 18 June 2013 Mrs Grace Phiri, Investigations Officer at the Zambian Commission for Investigation for 16 years, passed away in Paris on her way to the AOMA Exco Meeting in Burkina Faso. She was travelling with the Investigator General of Zambia, Mrs. Caroline Sokoni.

Committee on Human Rights discusses issue of monitoring rights of convicts during a quarantine
At the meeting of the Seimas Committee on Human Rights, the issue of ensuring human rights in the institutions subordinated to the Prison Department during an emergency situation was discussed. During the meeting, Augustinas Normantas, the Head of the Seimas Ombudsmen‘s Office, drew the attention of the participants to the fact that quarantine conditions are currently being mitigated; therefore, it is necessary to talk about quarantine mitigation measures in correctional facilities.

Investigations into allegations of nepotism in Victorian government schools
This report draws attention to a problem that has become a regular subject of ‘public interest disclosures’ to the Ombudsman - nepotism in government schools. It highlights the need for school principals and staff to check and follow integrity obligations, and the need for public authorities to look for effective ways to embed integrity in their workplaces.

New dates (23 - 28 May 2021) have been agreed for the International Ombudsman Institute (IOI) 12th General Assembly and World Conference in Dublin. Se han acordado nuevas fechas (23 – 28 de mayo de 2021) para celebrar la 12ª Conferencia Mundial y Asamblea General del Instituto Internacional del Ombudsman (IIO) en Dublín.
