Social Care institutions are monitored through Social Media
The Seimas Ombudsman Augustinas Normantas has begun the monitoring of social care homes through social media. Having launched a private Facebook group named "A Quarantine in social care institutions," the Human Rights Division of the Seimas Ombudsmen's Office started monitoring of social care institutions by providing the assistance to caregivers and collecting information on challenges with which the institutions face.

In the framework of combating new COVID19 pandemic the activities on combating the virus continues in Azerbaijan. By the country President’s decree on pardoning dated 6 April 2020, 176 convicts were released from prison and sent into quarantine.

The international Ombudsman community mourns the death of Enrique Múgica Herzog, former Spanish Ombudsman, President of the Federation of Ibero-american Ombudsman FIO and founder of the Association of Mediterranean Ombudsman (AOM), who passed away on Saturday, 11 April 2020, apparently victim of COVID-19.

Human Rights Defender monitors situation of domestic violence during the State of Emergency
Immediately after declaring the State of Emergency in Armenia, the Human Rights Defender has started the monitoring of the situation with regard to domestic violence. Reason for comprehensive monitoring is that the restrictions imposed during the State of Emergency increase the risk of violence in the family. In this respect, women, children and the elderly are the most vulnerable groups.

Le Défenseur des droits a eu connaissance de situations dans lesquelles l’accès à des supermarchés a été refusé à des enfants. Alors que de nombreuses familles sont monoparentales, ces refus ont pour effet soit de rendre impossible l’accès à des biens de première nécessité, soit de porter atteinte à l’intérêt supérieur des enfants en imposant qu’ils soient laissés seuls à la porte du magasin.

On 27 March 2020, Petri Jääskeläinen, the Parliamentary Ombudsman, nominated a new Human Rights Delegation to serve a term from 1 April 2020 to 31 March 2024. The Delegation has 38 members; a total of 134 people applied to join the Human Rights Delegation.

Dedicated cell for overseas Pakistanis established in Wafaqi
The Secretariat of the Federal Ombudsman (Wafaqi Mohtasib) of Pakistan has established a dedicated cell in the Ombudsman Secretariat to increase relevance of Wafaqi Mohtasib as an instrument of accountability & good governance in Pakistan and provide Pakistanis living abroad a direct, quick and free of charge recourse to the Ombudsman for redressal of their complaints against mal-administration in any government agency.
