Online seminar on the role of NHRIs in public emergencies
Based on the ODIHR Reference Tool supporting NHRIs during public emergencies, ENNHRI and ODIHR will hold an online seminar on the “Role of NHRIs in Public Emergencies” on 11 December 2020 from 9h00 – 13h00 CET. UN resolution on the role of the Ombudsman
The International Ombudsman Institute is very happy to report that the UN resolution on the role of the Ombudsman (A/RES/72/186) was adopted by consensus on 19 November 2020 and that the final version of the resolution is due to be adopted by the UN General Assembly before the end of the year.

The General Assembly and Conference of the IOI’s European Chapter will take place in Tallinn on 17-19 September 2014. Western Australia Ombudsman Chris Field has tabled in Parliament the report of a major own motion investigation on “Preventing suicide by children and young people 2020”. The 2020 Investigation examines what is known about suicide and self-harm by Western Australian children and young people, current strategic frameworks, and data obtained during the Ombudsman’s investigation.
