The Ombudsman Bureau of St. Maarten, headed by Nilda Arduin, has been elected Person of the Year 2013 by the Daily Herald newspaper. The Ombudsman Bureau presented several political decisions that were deemed not to conform with Constitutional Law.

Enquête pour analyser les progrès des membres
Conformément à l’Article 21.4(n) des Statuts de l’IIO le Secrétaire général de l’IIO est obligé de présenter à l’Assemblée générale de l’IIO un rapport « faisant état des progrès réalisés parmi les membres votants relativement au respect des principes sur lesquels reposent les institutions d'ombudsman énoncés à l'Article 2 ».
