Ombudsman Hong Kong published Brief Report 2018
The Ombudsman of Hong Kong, Ms Connie Lau, published the Office of The Ombudsman’s Brief Report 2018 on 31 January. The Office received a total of 10,130 enquiries and 4,870 complaints in 2018. The figures were at similar levels to those in the past few years, with an average of 850 enquiries and 400 complaints per month.

New Study addresses access to sport for people with disabilities
The Commission has published a study that seeks to promote best practice for providing enhanced opportunities for individuals with disabilities to be involved in organised sports.There are an estimated 80m people with a disability in the European Union (EU), equivalent to approximately 15% of the EU population. Disabled people are less likely to take part in organised sport than non-disabled individuals, this despite the many positive benefits of participation.

Austrian Ombudsman and IOI Secretary General meet GIO Iran
The President of the General Inspection Organization (GIO) Iran, H.E. Justice Naser Seraji, took the opportunity of his participation at the 10th Annual Conference of the International Association of Anti-Corruption Authorities (IAACA), which took place in Vienna (Austria), from 22 – 24 January 2019, to meet with Ombudsman Peter Fichtenbauer, Chairperson of the Austrian Ombudsman Board (AOB), and IOI Secretary General Günther Kräuter.

An event on "Child rights: Equal opportunities" was held by the Ombudsman Institution of Azerbaijan jointly with Goygol District Executive Power in the Gizilja village school. The issue of effective education and upbringing of the children for the future was highlighted during the event.
