En vista del éxito de las primeras subvenciones regionales realizadas por el I.I.O. en 2010/2011, la Junta Directiva, en su reunión annual celebrada en Zambia en noviembre de 2011, decidió que el I.I.O. proveería una vez más fondos para proyectos regionales en el año fiscal 2011/2012 con el fin de aumentar la visibilidad de las regiones.

Dans le but d’augmenter la visibilité de l’I.I.O. dans ses régions, le Conseil d’administration a décidé, lors de sa réunion en Zambie en novembre 2011, de mettre des subventions régionales à la disposition de ses membres. Cette décision a été prise suite au premier cycle de subventions régionales très bien accueillies en 2010/2011.

The I.O.I. congratulates the new incumbent of its Romanian member institution. On 27 September 2011, Prof. Gheorghe Iancu was appointed as the People´s Advocate of Romania for a five year term by the Romanian Parliament.

It is with great sadness that the I.O.I. informs its members that Mr. Ofentse Moatlhodi Lepodise, Ombudsman for the Republic of Botswana, passed away on 18 October 2011. Mr. Lepodise was currently serving his second four-year term of office.

The Public Defender of Rights (Ombudsman), as the Czech equality body, responses for researching in the area of discrimination and his first research was focused on employment (job offering). Ombudsman analyzed about 12,000 job advertising released on one of the portals in April and found out that every 6th advertisement was discriminatory.
