El 26 de abril del 2021, la presidenta de la Comisión Nacional de Derechos Humanos y el ministro de Educación ofrecieron conjuntamente una rueda de prensa para lanzar el Proyecto de Cooperación Intensiva en Educación en Derechos Humanos. La presidenta de la Comisión Nacional de Derechos Humanos indicó que el sistema de educación primaria y secundaria es un punto de partida muy importante para la promoción de la educación en derechos humanos.

2021-05-31Asamblea Mundial del Instituto Internacional del Ombudsman
El Defensor del Pueblo Andaluz, Jesús Maeztu, ha participado, como miembro de pleno derecho, en la Asamblea Mundial del Instituto Internacional del Ombudsman (IIO), que se ha celebrado el 25 de mayo de 2021 mediante videoconferencia. En la referida Asamblea se ha aprobado la Declaración de Dublín en la que se señala que el IIO entiende que la pandemia no ha respetado la igualdad de oportunidades y ha afectado de forma desproporcionada a los grupos vulnerables.

The Office of the Ombudsman Hong Kong released two investigation reports recently. One is about the "Procedures for Approval of Loan Applications and Recovery of Debts under the Non-means-tested Loan Scheme" while the other one is on "Education Bureau’s Non-disclosure of Teachers’ Registration Status".

2021-05-28General Assembly adopts by-laws reform and Dublin Declaration
On 25 May 2021 the IOI General Assembly was held by virtual means and hosted by the Office of the Irish Ombudsman Peter Tyndall. The General Assembly brought together 130 IOI member institutions to hear presentations from the IOI Board of Directors on the organization’s services, development and achievements in the past years and to adopt two major reform to the IOI By-laws, in order to guarantee that the IOI becomes a more inclusive, transparent and democratic organization.

On 19 May 2021, the outgoing IOI Board of Directors held its annual meeting to take stock of last year’s achievements and to discuss upcoming projects and priorities. This meeting was the last Board meeting in the current composition, as the new Board of Directors under the newly elected IOI President, Mr. Chris Field, will take up its work next week.

The Commission on Administrative Justice (Ombudsman) on its own motion requested information from the agency following media reports on concerns raised by some residents of the Uyombo Community regarding the ecological, safety, and security impact of the proposed nuclear plant to the community.
