2021-05-27Police stops in Europe: everyone has a right to equal treatment
A new paper by the EU Agency for Fundamental Rights (FRA) reveals the differences between people’s experiences with police stops. It shows that Black people, Asians and Roma are still more likely to be stopped and searched by police, which also affects their trust in policing. FRA will continue providing EU countries with data and guidance to support them in ensuring their policing practices respect people’s fundamental rights.

On Monday, May 24, the Ombudsman for Children’s Office (OCO), published No End in Site; An investigation into the living conditions of children living on a local authority site. The OCO met with families and visited the site on three occasions, observing the very basic conditions, which have been in place since the site was established in 1989.

The Federal Ombudsman’s office has decided complaints filed by 152,000 Pakistanis living abroad over the past two years and at present there is no complaint pending a decision. Moreover, it has been decided that video link facility will be provided to overseas Pakistanis for the hearing of their complaints.
