Preparations for I.O.I. world conference under way
The Ombudsmen and staff of the New Zealand Office of the Ombudsmen look forward to welcoming the ombudsman community to New Zealand in November 2012 to the I.O.I. world conference. Formal invitations and information about registration will be sent out in a few months and the conference website has recently gone "live".

Kick-off for by-laws reform in Vienna
The Bylaws and Governance sub-committee of the Board met in Vienna in late May. Building on the work begun at the Board meeting in Bermuda, Mats Melin produced a refined draft of possible changes to strengthen and clarify the role of the I.O.I. in a changing world.

Alima Déborah TRAORE new Ombudsperson
On 22 June 2011, the President of Faso has nominated Alima Déborah Traore as the new Ombudsperson, after her predecessor, Amina Ouedraogo, retired. Alima Traore is an expert in public law and the relations between the public administration and the citizens.
