El pasado 8 de octubre un grupo de 34 oficiales militares de alto rango procedentes de Centro y Sudamérica visitaron el Yuan de Control. Allí mantuvieron un encuentro con la presidenta Po-ya Chang, el secretario general Meng-rong Fu y el subsecretario general Wen-shih Liu y conocieron más acerca de los cinco poderes del Gobierno de acuerdo con la Constitución, así como las funciones y poderes del YC.

Segundo taller sobre aportes de la medicina en materia de prevención y sanción de la tortura
El próximo 26 de septiembre se realizará el segundo taller “Aportes de la medicina en la prevención y sanción de la tortura. Taller de capacitación para promover el cumplimiento del Protocolo de Estambul” que tendrá lugar en la ciudad de Mendoza de 10:00 a 13.00hs en el Hotel Fuente Mayor - General Espejo 565 – El evento es parte de una serie de encuentros regionales como el que se realizó en agosto de este año en la provincia del Chaco.

CRPD and GANHRI host meeting on persons with disabilities and Covid-19
The Committee on the Rights of Persons with Disabilities and GANHRI are pleased to invite all NHRIs to a meeting on persons with disabilities and COVID-19 to share experiences, practices, challenges and gaps in protecting and promoting the rights of persons with disabilities during the pandemic. The meeting will take place on 19 August 2020 from 14h40 to 16h00 (CET). Registration is now open.

Aportes de la medicina en la prevención y sanción de la tortura
Con el objetivo de promover el cumplimiento del Protocolo de Estambul, la Procuración Penitenciaria de la Nación Argentina (PPN) realizará en la provincia de Chaco un taller abierto de capacitación. También se mantendrán reuniones con miembros del comité provincial para la prevención de la tortura.

Inauguration of sixth Control Yuan and establishment of National Human Rights Commission
The President and Members of the sixth Control Yuan (CY) were inaugurated on 1 August 2020, with Vice President Lai Ching-te presiding. The same day, the grand opening of the National Human Rights Commission (NHRC) was presided over by President Tsai Ing-wen, along with NHRC Chair Chen Chu, former CY President Chang Po-ya, and Member Upay Radiw Kanasaw. The establishment of the NHRC marks a milestone in Taiwan’s human rights development.
