On June 29, by the initiative of the Chairmen of the RA National Assembly Mr. Ara Babloyan, a working meeting entitled “Issues of children with disabilities” was initiated based on recommendations stated in the RA Human Rights Defender’s “Commitments under the Convention of the Rights of the Child and its protocols: The state of fulfilment by Armenia” ad hoc report and recommendations on issues of children highlighted in the program of RA Government.

Yanes asegura que se trata de una las acciones de austeridad a las que se ha comprometido a llevar a cabo durante este mandato.

People in positions of authority at Puffing Billy and other Victorian railway groups protected the reputation of their organisations at the expense of children who were sexually abused, the Victorian Ombudsman has found. Tabling her Investigation into child sex offender Robert Whitehead’s involvement with Puffing Billy and other railway bodies in the Victorian Parliament, Ombudsman Deborah Glass said the failures of people in authority were monumental.

El defensor del Pueblo, Raúl Lamberto, dejó inaugurada una nueva oficina de atención en la localidad de Tostado. “Aspiramos a tener una oficina de la Defensoría en cada uno de los 19 departamentos y este es un paso más en ese sentido”, afirmó Lamberto a la vez destacó que esta nueve sede “fue posible por la generación de alianzas, en este caso entre la Legislatura y el Senado de la provincia”.

The Report was tabled in the House of Assembly on 22 June 2018 and is available to the public. The Report is structured around the Ombudsman's strategic aims which include: greater public access, greater public awareness, and championing best practice.

Recently, there have been situations when advocates defending people of negative reputation or negative public perception are insulted and threatened on social media. The Human Rights Defender asks social media account holders to take into consideration that the performance by advocates of their professional duties is indispensable to the process of administration of justice. It is impossible to have justice without proper performance by advocates of their professional activities, which is based on the rule of law.

2018-06-21Ombudsman receives over 3,000 complaints about public services
Ombudsman Peter Tyndall received 3,021 complaints about providers of public services last year. The Ombudsman’s annual report for 2017 was published on Wednesday 20 June and shows that the sectors that were the most complained about in 2017 were: Government Departments/Offices (953 complaints), Local Authorities (852 complaints) and Health and social care sector (608 complaints).

El día 18 de mayo de 2018 la Sala I de la Cámara Federal de Casación Penal resolvió hacer lugar a un recurso interpuesto por la Procuración Penitenciaria de la Nación en el marco de una acción de habeas corpus en la que se cuestionaba, entre otras temáticas, el trato recibido por las personas que visitan a los detenidos alojados en la Unidad Nº 19, especialmente las mujeres, quienes eran sometidas a registros personales manuales que implicaban el desnudo y prácticas invasivas, vejatorias y humillantes.
