Las muertes bajo custodia son siempre responsabilidad del Estado
El 2 de marzo se desató un incendio en la Comisaría 1ª de la Policía Bonaerense en la Cuidad de Pergamino. En la celda colectiva donde ninguna persona debería haber estado detenida, porque es esa una función propia de la agencia penitenciaria, convivían 19 personas, todas ellas detenidas cautelarmente. Siete de ellas murieron. La Procuración Penitenciaria de la Nación (PPN) viene alertando año tras año el incremento de la cantidad de personas detenidas en las cárceles federales argentinas, sobrepasando su capacidad de alojamiento declarada.

Chancellor of Justice Ülle gives oath of office before parliament ahead of second term
Ülle Madise, who was appointed for a second term as Estonian Chancellor of Justice, gave the oath of office in the Riigikogu on 4 April. Parliament approved Madise’s second term on 15 December last year. In a secret ballot, her continuation in the role was supported by 63 MPs, with 18 against and one abstention.

Underaged prisoners and their possibilities of attending school and studying
The law and international recommendations require that minors in prison are kept separate from adults. According to observations made during prison visits of the Parliamentary Ombudsman, this does not happen. Prisons do not have suitable facilities for accommodating minors that are separate from adults.

Michelle Morris took office as the new Public Services Ombudsman for Wales on 1 April 2022. She was previously Managing Director of Blaenau Gwent County Borough Council. Prior to that she worked for Highland Council in Scotland, for 10 years.

El síndic de greuges de Cataluña, Rafael Ribó, ha entregado a la presidenta del Parlamento el Informe al Parlamento 2016. Más de 38.000 personas se han dirigido al Síndic en el año 2016, se han tramitado más de 18.000 quejas y se han abierto 281 actuaciones de ofici. Rafael Ribó alerta acerca de situaciones que se pueden interpretar como atentados a la libertad de expresión y a otros derechos y libertades fundamentales
