As Secretary General of the International Ombudsman Institute (IOI), the Austrian Ombudsman Werner Amon met the President of the Ibero-American Federation (FIO), Pablo Ulloa, who has also been the Ombudsman of the Dominican Republic since 2021. The meeting took place in Santo Domingo in the Dominican Republic in February 2022. The topics of the discussion were a potential membership of the Dominican Republic in the IOI and closer cooperation betwe en the FIO and the IOI.

ENNHRI statement on ensuring that humanitarian law and human rights are respected and protected in the context of the current armed attack on Ukraine
ENNHRI calls for an immediate cessation of the armed attack on Ukraine by the Russian Federation in accordance with the principles of international law, humanitarian law and human rights law, and urges the Russian government to implement the interim measures granted by the European Court of Human Rights.

The Seimas Ombudsman has met with the Minister of Justice in the Prison Department
The Seimas Ombudsman, Augustinas Normantas, has met with the head of the Prison Department and the governors of prisons. At the beginning of the gathering, Mr. Normantas, the head of the Seimas Ombudsmen's Office, drew the attention of the managers of penitentiaries towards pressing problems in prisons, including poor incarceration conditions.
