On 23 June 2022, the Acting Commonwealth Ombudsman, Penny McKay, published a report on the National Disability Insurance Agency’s (NDIA) preparation to meet the Participant Service Guarantee (PSG). The report is the result of an investigation into the NDIA’s preparation to meet the PSG, which was introduced into legislation in Australia on 1 April 2022.

Ombudsman pushes Royal Thai Police to streamline criminal record database
In 2020, the Ombudsman received a complaint from the Faculty of Law of Thammasat University, in relation to the Royal Thai Police Regulation on fingerprinting and record keeping. Pursuant to this regulation, information remains in the criminal record database, even when the prosecutor decides not to press charges.

Une quinzaine de professeurs, dont 8 Femmes, de l’Institution « la Puissance de l’Education » sise à Fontamara 27 ont suivi avec succès un séminaire de formation organisé les 22 et 23 juin 2017 par l’Office de la Protection du Citoyen (OPC). Cette session de formation s’est déroulée autour du thème : Convention Relative aux Droits de l’Enfant et Citoyenneté Engagée.

El Síndic reclama un acceso para las personas con movilidad reducida mientras duren las obres en la estación Granollers Centre
Recomienda a Renfe que agilice los trabajos de mejora para finalizar las obras lo antes posible. El Síndic de Greuges considera que las obras de mejora que se están llevando a cabo en las estación de Cercanías de Granollers Centre comportan una vulneración de derechos para las personas con movilidad reducida y para los usuarios del servicio con equipaje o cochecitos de niños. Por este motivo y después de haber recibido diversas quejas, ha recomendado que se habilite un paso alternativo al que se está utilizando que, a diferencia de éste, sea accesible para todas las personas.

Federal Ombudsman presents annual report 2021
On 2 May 2022, the Federal Ombudsman published its 2021 Annual Report and presented it to the Chamber of Representatives. The Office opened 8,202 files in 2021, which is a 20 % increase compared to 2019. In 2021, 1 complaint in 5 was still coronavirus related. Complaints about unemployment benefits continued to be rife.
