Ombudsman Punjab, Major Azam Suleman Khan (Retd) (Hilal-i-Imtiaz), presented the annual report of the Office of the Ombudsman Punjab for 2022 to Governor Punjab, Muhammad Balighur Rehman, at the governor's house. Major Azam Suleman Khan elaborated on the noteworthy aspects of the annual report, stating that the ombudsman office successfully resolved 29,970 complaints out of a total of 31,149, resulting in an impressive 96% resolution rate.

Malawi Ombudsman staff take the Oath of Secrecy
On 7 August 2023, the Office of the Ombudsman administered the Oath of Secrecy to 40 of its members of staff and interns. The Director of Legal Services and Advisory, Chipiliro Mangulama, said the ceremony is in line with Section 10 of The Ombudsman Act, which stipulates the need for officers in the office of the Ombudsman to treat with utmost confidentiality any information made available to them in the course of their work.

Record cases handled by Toronto Ombudsman in 2024 indicate increasing demand for accountability in local government
The City of Toronto’s Ombudsman handled 4,929 cases in 2024, a 43 per cent increase over the previous year and the highest on record. The most common fairness issues stemmed from poor communication, including no or delayed responses and inconsistent or incorrect information from City staff.

En ce 23 juin 2025, l’Association des Ombudsmans et Médiateurs de la Francophonie (AOMF) souligne la Journée mondiale des lanceurs d’alerte. Pour cette occasion, l’AOMF attire l’attention sur l’importance de valoriser le rôle des personnes qui, dans l’intérêt public, lancent des alertes et contribuent de la sorte à promouvoir les valeurs d’intégrité, de transparence et de bonne gouvernance. Due to recent media reports of alleged tortuture and other cruel, inhuman or degrading treatment or punishment meted out to two journalists, CHRAJ found it appropriate to issue an Advisory in accordance with the Paris Principles which vest National Human Rights Institutions (NHRIs) with general responsibility to advise Government, Parliament and other authorities by giving and issuing “opinions, recommendations, proposals and reports”.
