APT publishes Annual Report 2013
In its 2013 Annual Report, the Association for the Prevention of Torture (APT) is pleased to inform that States continued to abide by their legal obligation to protect persons deprived of their liberty and that the APT continued to pave the way towards a world without torture, without degrading treatment, a world in which the dignity and rights of persons deprived of their liberty are respected. Information Commissioner welcomes removal of FOI fee
Information Commissioner, Peter Tyndall, has welcomed the Government’s proposal to abolish the €15 application fee for making FOI requests. Both he and the former Commissioner, Emily O’Reilly, have previously publicly expressed their view that the application fee acted as a disincentive to members of the public seeking access to information held by public bodies.
