Ombudsman report on mass arrests during the Copenhagen UN climate summit
In December 2009 Copenhagen was host city for the UN climate summit, attended by the world’s political leaders and a very large number of NGOs. A large number of demonstrations was registered with the police. Some organisations had indicated through the press that they might not use only legal methods in connection with the demonstrations – a promise which some of them later fulfilled.

President Tyndall attends OGP Summit 2016
The Open Government Partnership (OGP) – a multilateral initiative, which currently brings together 70 participating countries, NGOs and representatives from civil society – held its Summit 2016 in Paris. IOI President Peter Tyndall participated as one of the panelists of a roundtable on “The role of accountability institutions in advancing open government”.

European Parliament passes resolution on European Ombudsman
Transparency and access to information is doing are vital to maintain citizens' trust in Europe, says a resolution passed by Parliament on Thursday. The European Commission must co-operate fully with the Ombudsman.
