2024-04-18Ombudsman saves Toronto man $20,000 in Hydro dispute
Toronto Ombudsman Kwame Addo says Toronto Hydro acted unfairly by holding a property owner responsible for approximately $20,000 worth of repairs to a hydro vault it never told him he owned. Ombudsman Addo launched the investigation after receiving a complaint from Mr. A., who purchased a unit in a Toronto plaza in 1980.

El 15 de abril de 2024 el Defensor del Pueblo, Ángel Gabilondo, entregó los premios de la XIX Edición del Concurso de Dibujo sobre Derechos Humanos Defensor del Pueblo, en un acto celebrado en la sede de la institución. En esta edición participaron 2.237 escolares -1.335 alumnos de Primaria, 867 de Secundaria y 62 Educación Especial- procedentes de 152 centros, y resultaron ganadores siete dibujos.

Tras la intervención de la sede de la Defensoría del Pueblo en Huanta, se ha podido advertir que las disposiciones dictadas por el Ministerio de Transportes y Comunicaciones para reglamentar la Ley 29237, que crea el Sistema Nacional de Inspecciones Técnicas Vehiculares, no facilita ni garantiza que los vehículos menores, más conocidos como “mototaxis”, pasen por la respectiva inspección técnica vehicular.
